On Sherman Hill is the creative outlet and inspiration dump—sometimes personal blog—of a graphic designer quite literally living on Sherman Hill in Des Moines, Iowa. More than a physical space, Sherman Hill is a time in my life. It marks my first home away from home, my first grown-up job, and lots and lots of learning how to make it on my own. This blog is a journal of the art, design, fashion, and cool people that are influencing my life as I figure it all out. It’s going to take a while. Okay, I can’t even guarantee it will happen.
I’m Leah. 24-years-old. I hail from Chicago, but call Des Moines, Iowa home. Growing up I thought I wanted to be a fashion designer or a Disney Channel pop star before deciding I wanted to sit at the helm of Seventeen Magazine. I think it goes without saying that I pursued different avenues and now work in graphic design and marketing. That’s not to say I don’t still think Miley, Selena and I should all be best friends. #MiLenAh?
I love to bake, practice yoga, fill up online shopping carts and then abandon them, and eat Mexican food. Cubs over Sox. Cats over dogs. T-shirts over blouses. And deep dish pizza will always reign supreme.
